In How Can You Write Fiction When Reality Comes to Call, Carolyn Chute explores her ways of coupling with distractions which was to be in writer mode. Which she described as an “ESP trance”. In which she disconnects herself from life and into her writing. Many students face distractions in college. Distractions could be outside noise and the abundance of people. A student such as myself experience these problems. One way of how I would tackle this is stay in a quiet place, with no people and noise that isn’t organized sound like music. This helps because it lets me not turn my attention to the outside world and in touch with my inside consensus. Places like a library can actually be discomforting, Because its surroundings and how loud obnoxious people can be like slamming books and typing obnoxiously loud on their keyboards. I have a certain procedure that is a ginormous help to cope with measures like this. Find an area where I can be most comfortable. Sit down. With no people and no noise that isn’t my headphones. put on music, something soft. Like Ambient/Modern Classical music Start writing with no organization. Slowly start Organizing my ideas. Stretch. Ernest Hemingway, a novelist that has written classics such as For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Sun Also Rises. Talks about his ways of managing distractions on in article called 6 Ways To Be A Hemingway-Level Productive Badass .One of the things that Ernest had was a standing desk. I found standing then taking break to be beneficial. If I don’t stand and stretch for at least 10 minutes, I’ll probably start getting hunched over comparable to an old man in an elderly home. It’s really bothersome because I would have to start crackling my back every 2 minutes. It’ll almost turn into some Sci-Fi horror film were the mutated demon/zombie that starts bending his body in weird dispositions. I found that I could be a better at writing. If I just stand a few times and have no distractions. Then I will be satisfied. I already have a set schedule, I always want to get stuff done early so I could have more free time. It’s just some of these things that is are a huge annoyance between me and our inner creativeness in writing. I want a bit of peace, and a chance to stand up straight.
