Why I Write
In a Passage of Joan Didion called Why I Write, which is inspired by a piece that George Orwell written. Reflects on her struggles as a writer and what techniques she used to help her through her studies in college and as an individual. she expresses that her attention was always on a state of “Periphery” then comes down to earth to simply state that she is a “writer” that is neither good or bad. People like Joan and her ideas are what gives incentive to myself. Joan knows that she isn’t the greatest, which all writers realize at one point. Such Egoism can destroy one’s writing. It’s closely related to other creative outputs like music, art and cinema. As an artist critiques their art to the bone, A musician will write pieces to the softest pitch and a film director will a write a crazy script. Which can be a positive outlook because they feel utmost proud about their work. But those individuals realize he or she is not the divine. They come to a realization that they are much like everyone else as a creative intuitive. This doesn’t mean that you should denounce yourself as writer or as an individual. No one should feel like they are a terrible writer. It means not setting your standards so high that you inflate yourself to think you are the king of the world. Joan is a prime example of why I write, to express my ideas and thoughts that frees the ego that’s in us internally. like releasing the air of a balloon. Once you un-tie the balloons thread, the balloon shoots off and the air releases into the atmosphere. The feeling that can be shared with us as individuals. We want to express ideas similar and release the helium from its captor. The air that’s trapped in us to think we are kings.

Sure, The king comparison made me think back to the middle ages. Around the 15th century. When Kings where considered wealthy and royal. But also treated there people terribly. People fought those kings because of the mistreatment of their kingdom. Then, Eventually. overthrown or banished those kings. which would free himself from not being high and mighty.
